ABOUT SOLO AI AWARD

SOLO AI AWARD is dedicated to exploring the intersection of contemporary creative practices and artificial intelligence through a global competition focusing on digital and new media art. Organized by SOLO, a contemporary art project based in Madrid (Spain), the award has provided opportunities to artists dedicated to examining the potential of these new tools, focusing on visual and narrative aspects. The prize, running since 2022, awards 10,000 euros yearly to an artist exploring with AI.

 

ABOUT SOLO

SOLO is an international artistic project dedicated to fostering, supporting, and sharing contemporary art. Founded by Spanish entrepreneurs Ana Gervás and David Cantolla, SOLO boasts an international contemporary art collection comprising over 1,200 pieces across various media. At the same time, it promotes numerous projects and initiatives supporting artists and contemporary creation. Through its various international projects, SOLO encourages dialogue and experimentation in the fields of art and new media.

It has two major spaces in Madrid: SOLO Independencia, dedicated to the art collection, and SOLO CSV, a 4,500-square-metre centre devoted to contemporary art and culture, hosting the numerous projects SOLO spearheads. Additionally, SOLO operates a residency and an exhibition and experimentation space in a rural area in northern Spain, with plans to open a new venue in Lisbon in the near future.

ABOUT ONKAOS

Onkaos explores the intersections of contemporary art, new media, and digital culture within SOLO.

Providing support in artwork commissioning and production, exhibition and event curation, communication, outreach, and research, Onkaos focuses on integrating and expanding the practices, methodologies, and voices inherent to digital culture across both emerging and traditional spaces.
